Privacy Policy

DitherBoy collects nothing. The photos you take never leave your device, and the app has no networking code at all.
In short
There are no accounts. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to sign in to.
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking of any kind.
The app contains no code that talks to a server. Your photos and settings stay on your device.
Permissions the app asks for
Camera — used only to show the viewfinder and take a picture. Frames are processed on the device and drawn to the screen; nothing is written to storage unless you press the shutter.
Add to photo library — used only when saving a finished dot photo to Photos. The app does not request read access to your library, and never opens or imports existing photos.
Nothing else is requested. The app does not use location, microphone, contacts, notifications or an advertising identifier.
What is stored on your device
Photos you take — written as PNG files in the app’s own storage.
Cartridge list and names — a JSON file in the same place.
Settings — your resolution, palette, brightness, contrast and sound choices, kept in the device’s standard settings store.
All of it stays on your device and the developer cannot reach any of it. Photos taken with the app carry no location data.
What never leaves
The app sends no data anywhere. Not your photos, not your settings, not usage statistics, not crash reports, not device information.
It bundles no third-party SDKs, so there is nothing to share with or sell to a third party either.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual photos and whole cartridges inside the app.
Deleting the app removes the photos and settings held in its own storage. That cannot be undone.
Photos you exported to Photos stay in Photos, and have to be deleted there if you want them gone.
Children
Because no personal data is collected, the same is true regardless of a user’s age. No information is collected from children.
This website
This site is made of static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.
The hosting provider that serves it may keep ordinary server access logs — IP address, browser type, time of request — under its own policy. The developer does not use those logs to identify anyone.
Changes to this policy
Any change is published here and the "last updated" date above is revised. If the app ever starts collecting or transmitting anything, this policy will be updated before that version ships.
